Closely tied to the history of the Cannes Film Festival since it was launched, La Grande Dame became the favourite address of the greatest stars of the 7th Art. Actors, directors and producers stayed here to promote their films and add extra sparkle to the Croisette with their presence.

French actress Isabelle Huppert won the Suzanne-Bianchetti Prize at her very first Cannes Film Festival in May 1976, when she was 23 years old. Since then, she has worked with the foremost names in the movie world, winning many international awards.

Snow in front of the Carlton Cannes in May? Such was the backcloth imagined to promote the animated movie A Christmas Carol. The voice actors in this production – Jim Carrey and Colin Firth – rode in a carriage as far as the hotel entrance with this enchanting decor.

The entire team of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny stayed at the Carlton Cannes. Harrison Ford, who won a surprise “Palme d’Or d’Honneur”, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and James Mangold posed here at the Carlton Beach Club for a photo shoot with the tuk-tuk rickshaws in the film.

After a 27-year absence from the Croisette, American actress Demi Moore made a much-noticed appearance in front of the Carlton Beach Club, wearing a gown signed Del Core during the festival’s 77th edition.

Each year, many Hollywood stars choose the Carlton Cannes for their stays. In the official competition with his movie Kinds of Kindness, actor Willem Dafoe perpetuated the tradition, unpacking his bags, him too, in the palace.
